Wash and Care your cotton sarees

Cotton sarees are timeless, breathable, and beautiful — but they do need some gentle love to last longer and age gracefully. Here’s how to take care of them the right way:

 1. First Wash Matters

For the very first wash, soak the saree in cold water with a handful of salt for 15–20 minutes. This helps lock in the color.

2. Wash Gently

Always hand-wash in cold water using mild detergent. Avoid harsh soaps or machine washes that may fade colors or damage the weave.

 3. Dry in Shade

Never dry cotton sarees under direct sunlight — it causes the color to fade. Dry in shade and always inside-out.

4. Iron with Care

Use medium heat to iron. For best results, iron while the saree is still slightly damp — it helps retain the crispness.

5. Store Smart

Fold neatly and store in a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging for long periods. Add a muslin cloth or tissue paper between folds to prevent creases.
